    PIM (New) Overview





    Benefits of PIM (New)

    • Fast and intuitive tool for managing your product database with less clicks and enhanced filtering features.
    • Customisable product catalogue view for each back office user.

    • Updated PIM API provides flexible integration options with other apps and platforms.

     

    Activate PIM (New) with a configuration parameter jsplugin_pim_enabled = 1 and a new module will be added into the back office.

    How to create a new product?

    Open the “PIM (NEW)” module


      
    On your Product Dashboard, select “add a product”


    Fill out all the necessary fields on the “Create a New Product” page. Here’s a guide on how to fill out the fields.


    Once you have filled out all the needed fields, click “Save Product” on the upper right corner.


    When you have successfully saved the new product, click the “Close” button just above the “Save Product Button” and you  should be able to see your newly created product.

    How to create a product group?

    Select “Product Groups” from the left Classifiers list

      
    Select “Add a Group” on the upper right, or you can use the “Add” button from the “Add-Edit-Delete” buttons on the left.

      
    Fill out your Category name, then click save

      
    Once saved, you will be able to see your newly created Product Group from the list, and you will be able to select it from you Product Dashboard

    How to create a product category?

    Select “Product Categories” from the left Classifiers list

      
    Select “Add a Category” on the upper right, or you can use the  “Add” button from the “Add-Edit-Delete” buttons on the left.

      
    Fill out your Category name, then click save

      
    Once saved, you will be able to see your newly created Product Category from the list, and you will be able to select it from you Product Dashboard'
    How to create a brand?

    Select “Brands” from the left Classifiers list

     

    Select “Add a Brand” on the upper right corner



    Fill out your Brand name, then click save

     

    Once saved, you will be able to see your newly created Brand name on the list, and you will be able to select it from your Product Dashboard.

    How to create suppliers?

    Select “Suppliers” from the left Classifiers list



    Select “Add a Supplier” on the upper right corner.




    Fill out your Supplier details, then click save


    Once saved, you will be able to see your newly created Supplier from the list, and you will be able to select it from your Product Dashboard.

    How to create matrix dimensions?

    Select “Matrix Dimensions” from the left Classifiers list

     

    Select “Add a Dimension” on the upper right corner. 

     

    Fill out your Dimension name, Select “active” as the Status. Make sure to click save before clicking “Matrix Values” as it will result in an error.

     

    Click “Matrix Values” to define your new Dimension.

     

    Fill out the necessary details for your Dimension Value. Then click “save”

     

    Once saved, you will be able to see your newly created Matrix Dimension from the list, and you will be able to select it from your Product Dashboard.

    Frequently asked questions

    If I add/edit any data in the PIM (New) module, do I also need to change these records in the current PIM/product catalogue menu?

    No, editing products in the new PIM is automatically changing the product information in the existing product catalogue solution. There is no need to enter any information into Erply twice.
     

    ​Can I restrict users for adding and editing products from PIM (New)?

    Yes, the new PIM module respects the user group rights that are set up on the Settings > User Groups page.
     

    Can I add additional product groups in new PIM?

    Yes, it is possible to add additional product groups that can be used when integrating your Erply account with Woocommerce platform.
     

    Can I create assortments in the new PIM?

    Yes, there is a Channels/Assortments sub menu where a user can create/edit assortments. Alternatively, you can link a product with an assortment on the product card.
     

    Can I add one parameter into multiple parameter sets?

    No, in Erply one parameter belongs into one parameter set. However, it is possible to link multiple parameter sets with a product group.
