Benefits of pickup orders

Reduce abandoned shopping carts
63% of online shoppers have canceled a transaction due to high shipping fees. In-store pickups give customers more options to complete an order right from the POS, without add-on fees that might discourage a completed purchase.
Pro Tip: In-store pickups are helpful for pre-sale items, where customers can “reserve” an item online, then complete the purchase in your shop, rather than shopping with a competitor. 

Increase profits with incentives 
Drive traffic to your shop with in-store pickups, then encourage them to make additional purchases with deals and promotions. 
For example: Eliminate shipping costs, offer expedited shipping, offer coupons for in-store pickup only.

Customers that have positive in-store experiences are more likely to make repeat purchases. In-store pickup orders can be utilized to incentivize customers to make repeat purchases in your store.

Creating a pickup order

At the POS, select a customer and add items to the cart.
Click on the light blue Save as order option button.

Erply will open a payment window. You can enter apply a full payment, pay partially or to save order without payment applied.
Full amount paid: The sale is saved as confirmed Order in the back office. In the POS it will be displayed in the Pickup Orders as fully paid order.  
Partial amount paid: The sale is saved as a confirmed  Order in the back office. In the POS it will be displayed in the Pickup Orders with the partial payment applied.
Without payment applied: The sale is saved as a confirmed Order in the back office. In the POS it will be displayed in the Pickup Orders without payment applied.

Press the green checkmark button to confirm the order.
The order can be printed and/or emailed to the customer.

Once the order is fully paid and picked up the new receipt will be created.
In the Back Office: The order document will be in status “completed” and linked to the related receipt.
In the POS: The Order will no longer be in the Pickup Orders. Instead of that the new receipt will be displayed in the Recent Sales.

Viewing pickup orders at the POS

To view all pickup orders at the POS, press the blue Pickup orders function button. 
Erply will display a list of all open orders. Click on an order to open it.
Alternatively, you can open an order by typing in the order number or by scanning the barcode on the order receipt.

Once you have clicked on an order you are able to choose the following:

  • Pick up Order - the POS will open the order. Products that are in this document will appear in the shopping cart. You are able to edit the order by including new products or making discounts. Afterwards click Pay finalize order with partial or full payment.
  • Cancel Order -the POS redirects you to the payment modal where you can see the returning amount. Click the green checkmark button to confirm the order cancellation..

Cancel Order

If a client prefer to cancel the order, it can be done in different ways:

Via Pickup Orders 

Navigate to the Pickup Orders.
Select an order. From the popup select the “Cancel Order” option.
The POS pulls up the payment modal. Check the returning amount and click the “green checkmark” button to confirm the order cancellation.

Return button

Click on the Return button. Type an order number that needs to be canceled.
“Order cancellation confirmation” popup appears. To proceed with order cancellation click “Yes”.
The POS pulls up the payment modal. Check the returning amount and click the “green checkmark” button to confirm the order cancellation.

Viewing pickup orders in the back office

In the back office, press the Sales module and select Orders.
Erply will populate a list of all open orders. Click on an order to view more information, add additional items to the order, apply a payment, print/ email the order receipt, or cancel the order.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can a customer make a payment before the order is ready?
Yes, you can pull up the order and add partial payments.

How long does an order remain for in Pickup Orders list view?
Pickup orders do not expire. They need to be fulfilled or deleted by a user with the proper user rights access.

Does Erply prevent me from selling reserved stock?
Erply does not prevent from selling reserved stock. If you have reserved stock for an item, it is taken out of the “available” stock. Then when the available stock runs out, you will start getting a warning that there is no more stock available and that you will start selling into the negative.
