Scan a Configuration Barcode
Some scanners have configuration barcodes in their manuals that can be scanned to change settings. Depending on the brand and model, look for a barcode that sets the scanner to automatically send an Enter key or a tab key after each scan.
Scan the value to the text document
In order to get know if the issue with POS application or scanner, please try to scan the value into the simple text document on your computer. If the value is properly scanned and displayed in a document - the scanner works fine and most likely the issue is on the application side. If the scanned value is not displayed at all or scanned value has scanned incorrectly in the text document, it means that the issue is in scanner device.
Check Connection
If it's a Bluetooth scanner, ensure it's properly connected. Try turning Bluetooth off and on again or re-pairing the scanner. For USB scanners, try a different USB port or computer.
Factory Reset
If none of the above works, consider a factory reset to restore default settings. Refer to your scanner's manual for reset instructions.
Consult Manufacturer
If the issue persists, it might be a scanner defect. Contact the scanner manufacturer's support for further assistance.
