If the POS (Point of Sale) system does not prompt you to open the day upon first signing in, it likely means that the previous day's batch or day was not successfully closed. This can occur due to various reasons, such as incomplete transactions, system errors, or user oversight. Ensuring that the day is properly closed at the end of each business day is crucial for accurate record-keeping.
Resolution: Close the day at the POS and then change the day of closing in the Back Office for an accurate record. Follow the guide below.
Closing The Day:
- In the POS Dashboard, select "Close Day" to initiate the day-end process and enter the cash amount counted from the drawer.
- Click the "Tenders" button located in the upper right corner of the screen to verify other transactions.
- Once you have reviewed all tenders, click "Done."
- Finally, click the "End The Day" button and then "Confirm" to fully close the day.
Adjust the Closing Day date to align with the Opening Day date:
- Navigate to the Back Office and select the Retail tab from the options above.
- Click on Day Openings and Closings.
- Find the batch/day that was opened yesterday and closed today, ensuring you select the correct location and register if you have multiple.
- This will open a new page displaying the open and close date and time. Enter the correct date and time in the "Closed" field on the right side of the page.
- Click Save
