What is an API Limit in Erply and Why Does It Exist?
In Erply, the API limit refers to the maximum number of API requests your account can send within a specific time period.
This limit exists to:
- Maintain System Stability: It prevents excessive traffic that could overload Erply’s servers and ensures the system runs smoothly for all users.
- Ensure Fair Usage: All clients share the same infrastructure. API limits help make sure no single account consumes more than its fair share of resources.
- Protect Against Abuse: Limiting requests helps detect unusual or potentially harmful activity, such as automated attacks or runaway processes.
- Manage Performance and Server Load: The limit ensures consistent and reliable performance for all Erply users.
When Can We Increase an API Limit?
You can request an increase to your API limit when:
- Your Business Volume Grows: For example, more branches, more transactions, or more integrations that require additional API calls.
- You Frequently Hit the Current Limit: If Erply logs show that your account is reaching the API limit and experiencing delays or errors, it’s a good time to request an increase.
- You Have a Justified Use Case: Erply may increase limits if there is a clear operational need, and your request aligns with best practices and system capacity.
