PAX Kiosk iPad setup

This guide covers the general setup for PAX on Erply Berlin POS using an iPad.

1. iPad setup

Download Erply PAX iPad app

1. Download the Erply Point of Sale with PAX app from the app store.

  

  

2. Open the app then hit the Home button to minimize the app and return to the home screen.

Turn off automatic downloads

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Scroll down to iTunes & App Store
  3. Under Automatic Downloads ensure that Music, Apps, Updates are all off

2. Device pairing

Bluetooth scanner

  1. If the scanner is new, plug in the device to charge it.
  2. Power on the scanner. This is typically done by pressing and holding small button on the front of the device. 

 

A beeping sound (high – low pitches) may be heard, and you may see a flashing light by the scanning secton.

  

  

3. On the iPad go to Settings > Bluetooth,

  

  

4. Tap the Socket CHS [xxxxxxx] name and the device will begin to connect to the iPad. 

 

When connected the scanner will beep. The scanner status should now be listed as “connected”

  

  

5. Scan the barcode below that is labeled iOS Mode and the scanner will be ready for use with the Erply Application.

  

6. If the scanner is not connecting, you may need to initiate a factory reset.

Receipt printer

  1. Plug the printer into an electrical outlet (Arrow on Connecter will be facing towards the ceiling).
  2. Insert printer paper roll.
  3. Turn on the receipt printer, then press and hold pair button.
  4. Open the iPad settings and select the Bluetooth menu. Select your printer to pair the devices.

  1. Open the iPad settings and scroll to the bottom of the settings menu.
  2. Click on the POS PAX menu item.

  

  

3. Click Select printer within the POS PAX menu.

  

  

4. Select your printer to pair it with your iPad.

Credit card terminal

  1. Turn on your credit card machine and open the device’s main menu. You may need to enter the device’s password
  2. In the device settings, locate the device name and write it down. 

On iPad

  1. Ensure that the Erply application is closed.
  2. Open the iPad Settings and scroll to the bottom of the settings menu.
  3. Select POS PAX.

  

  

4. Select configure terminal.

  

  

5. Turn on Terminal BT enabled.

  

  

6. Enter the device name collected from the credit card terminal. Please note that your device name may be different from the below screenshot.

  

  

7. Open the POS PAX application. Bluetooth indicator should now be activated on the d210 main screen.

  

Enable logging

  1. Open the iPad Settings and scroll to the bottom of the settings menu.
  2. Select POS PAX.

 

    

  

3. Under POS PAX SETTINGS turn on Enable logging.

  

Erply POS app

  1. Sign into Erply POS using your account credentials.

 

    

    

If needed, you may need to X out of the Sign in window in order to show the login window.

  

Optional: Disable receipt printing on iPad

4. Open the iPad Settings and scroll to the bottom of the settings menu.

5. Select POS PAX.

 

    

  

6. Select configure terminal.

  

  

7. Turn on Terminal printing disabled.
