What's the difference between Berlin and Classic back office?

“Classic” and “Berlin” are two variants of the Erply back office environment. These are separate products, but support the same main features. Both are fully supported and receive regular updates.

The choice between Classic and Berlin is an account-level (company-level) preference; your company can use either one or the other, but not both at the same time.

Berlin's benefits are:

  • A mobile-friendly and slightly simpler interface
  • An invoice form optimized for quick data entry

Classic's benefits are:

  • More information fits on the screen
  • Generally preferred by enterprises with lots of integrations and customizations.

At the moment, every new account is configured with Berlin back office by default.

To change the interface, please go to Settings > Configuration Admin > Parameters and edit configuration parameter app_interface. (Just keep in mind that the change will take effect immediately for the whole company.)

  • Value ERPLY2015 = Berlin back office
  • Empty value = Classic back office
