Moneris Manual Entry Mode in Brazil POS

28. marraskuuta 2024

Manual Entry Mode for Moneris is a feature that allows businesses to process credit card transactions by manually entering the card information into their point-of-sale (POS) system or terminal, rather than swiping, dipping, or tapping the card. This method is typically used when the physical card is unavailable for reading, such as when a customer provides card details over the phone or if the card's magnetic stripe or chip is damaged or unreadable.

The Brazil POS system has this possibility to enable the Manual Entry Mode for Moneris payments.

Setting location

Open Brazil POS and login with your Erply account credentials.
Open POS setting (cog icon).
Go to the Payment Configuration -> Setup payment gateways.
Select the Moneris if it is not selected yet.

Configure Manual Entry Mode

There are 3 options:

  • Never - function is disabled and clients need to insert their cards in order to pay
  • Always - Manual Entry is always sent to the terminal
  • Ask - POS will ask if you would like to send Manual Entry or not.

If the configuration is set to “always” - the following data is sent to the Moneris payment device:

Customers are required to enter the card number and expiry date

If it is set to “ask”, first the POS will ask the cashier and show the following popup in the POS:

Press “OK” to send the Manual Entry to the payment terminal.
Press “Cancel” to go back to the payment screen.

Manual Entry Mode on returns

The Manual Entry can be sent also while performing the returns. It works the same way as with regular payment.
