When the current configuration is enabled while selecting the product from the product dropdown field the product details view will not appear on the right display section. The product will be just added to the shopping cart and the user can proceed straight away with payment.
In order to enable this, please navigate to POS Settings -> Configuration -> General -> Disable Opening Product View From Product Search.
