Managing Product Quantities

Overview: This guide explains how to manage product quantities in the POS, including handling maximum quantities and configuring limits. The POS allows you to set product quantities with no fixed maximum limit, enabling flexibility for larger purchases. If a quantity is set for the field, the system will notify you with a message when the specified maximum quantity is reached.

How to Set Product Quantity

1. Adding Products

• Scan Product: When scanning a product, the default quantity is set to 1.
• Enter Quantity: You can adjust the quantity manually to any value.
• If a maximum quantity has been set in the configuration, a message will appear when that limit is reached.

2. Handling Maximum Quantities

• Message Alert for Set Limits:
  • If a limit is configured, a message will appear below:
    • “You have reached the maximum quantity.”

• Adding Quantities Beyond the Limit:
  • If the limit is reached and the customer needs more items, add the additional quantity on a new line in the shopping cart.
  • Example:
    • If the limit is 500 and the customer wants 503 units, add:
    • 500 units on the first line.
    • 3 units on a second line.

3. Configuring the Maximum Quantity

• The maximum allowed quantity can be configured based on user group settings in POS Configuration in Role Settings menu under Discounts.
