Customer Setup
Flax Enterprise Configuration App · Process guide
Customer settings sit at two levels: account-wide behavior in General settings > Customers, and what each role can search, see and create in Role Settings > Customers.
Account-level customer settings
General settings > Customers, saved with Save.

General settings > Customers (1 of 2)

General settings > Customers (2 of 2)
| Section | Setting | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Display customer note | Show popup of customer note when adding the customer | Shows the customer's note in a popup when the customer is added to the sale |
| ID Card | Use ID Card to register and search for individual customers | Lets cashiers search for and register person-type customers by reading an ID card. Built for Estonian ID cards: birth date and gender are read from the Estonian personal identification code. Other countries' cards may fill the name or code incorrectly, or give a wrong birthday or gender |
| ID Card | ID card reading mode | Standard (while customer search or creation is open): the reader works only while the customer search or customer creation window is open, and a Ready to read the ID card badge shows when a card can be inserted. A card in search selects that customer for the sale; a card in creation fills the form. The reader is released when the window closes, so it is never busy during checkout. Works with every reader, including the Swedbank terminal |
| Customer balance | Hide customer balance | Hides the customer's store credit balance in the Customer Details window and the customer section of checkout. Does not affect store credit functionality or the Account Sales module |
| Search | Automatically select the customer for the shopping cart when there is an exact search match | Adds the customer to the sale straight away when a search returns an exact match |
| Search | Set the minimum number of characters required for searching by the loyalty card code | Number of characters that must be entered before a loyalty card code search runs |
| Phone Country Code | Select default phone country code | Country code pre-filled for phone numbers |
| Customer creation | Require email for customer creation | Makes email mandatory when a customer is created at the POS. Applies only to creating a customer, not to editing one |
Custom customer attributes
Display customer attributes adds custom fields under the customer's details at the POS. Click Add new for each field.

| Attribute name | Name of the customer attribute as stored on the customer record |
| Attribute display name | Label shown at the POS |
| Attribute type | Type of value, for example Text |
| Required | Makes the attribute mandatory |
| Delete (trash icon) | Removes the attribute from the list |
POS QR CRM App
In General settings > General. Enable POS QR CRM App integration turns on push notifications in the POS that alert cashiers when a customer registers or checks in through the POS QR CRM App.
