Flax Enterprise Configuration Guide Overview

Overview

Flax Enterprise Configuration App · Process guides

These guides document every setting in the Flax Enterprise configuration app (app version 96), grouped by the business process it controls rather than by screen. Each guide covers one process: where its settings live, what each one does, and which other settings it depends on or affects.

A single process often draws on several screens. For example, gift cards are configured in General settings, Role Settings and Receipt settings. Each guide pulls those together so the whole process can be set up from one place.

Loyalty points is a separate module and has its own guide.

How the app is organized

The left menu has ten sections. The search box at the top of the second column finds a setting by name.

Setting levels and saving

Settings apply at one of four levels. Each guide names the level of every setting, because a setting changed at the wrong level is the most common reason a change does not appear at the POS.

  • Role, location and register settings are saved for the selected role, location or register only. Repeat the change for each one that needs it.
  • Save Configuration stays greyed out until something on the page has changed.
  • Clear Cache & Reload (General settings) reloads data from the Back Office. Use it after adding something in the Back Office, such as a currency, so it appears in the configuration app's lists.
  • Modules, UI and Quick Keys have their own Save buttons. Module changes reach the POS at the next login.
