Gift Cards

Gift card settings are spread across six screens. This guide collects them in the order a gift card is used: issued, sold, redeemed, refunded and printed.
Issuing and selling gift cards

Serial number pattern syntax
The pattern POS-[a-zA-Z0-9]{4}-[a-zA-Z0-9]{6} generates numbers such as POS-vs4A-acWjAb.
- Characters outside brackets, such as POS and each dash, are always the same.
- [a-zA-Z0-9] allows any character listed in the brackets: lowercase a–z, uppercase A–Z and digits 0–9.
- The number in curly brackets sets how many characters that group has.
Redeeming gift cards

Refunding to a gift card
General settings > Returns > Gift cards, saved with Save.

| Allow to create serial gift cards when making return | Lets the cashier refund a return onto a new serial gift card |
| Default gift card item from the catalog to use for returns | The serialized gift card product used for those refunds. Choose it with Select product. Shows Product Missing or Invalid until a valid product is chosen |
| By default set the gift card amount to the current return balance | Pre-fills the gift card amount with the amount being refunded |
Printing and screen
General settings > Receipt > Sales receipt: Gift card remaining balance
