In Erply there’s no option to delete a product. If you are not using a product anymore or have created a product by mistake you have the option to archive it. That way the product doesn’t appear in your product catalog along with active products, or when creating any sales/purchase documents.
Why can't I delete a product?
Why you can’t delete a product in Erply is because of product history. When you have already sold or bought the product then on those documents there would be an empty row when you could delete a product. That’s why there's an option to archive it, so it wouldn’t be in the way but you can still keep the history of the product.
Before archiving a product
If you want to archive a product, then before you should write off the stock levels of that product. Otherwise the archived product will be shown in your Inventory reports as there's still some stock under that product.
So before archiving the product create an Inventory Write-Off document.
A lot of archived products have stock levels
